About VGFD
Valley Grassroots for Democracy is one of the largest Democratic Clubs in the San Fernando Valley. We support clean money, healthcare for all, election integrity, fiscal responsibility, and an end to the war in Iraq. And we support candidates who support those ideals. We are committed to win back the White House in 2008 while increasing the Democratic majority in the House and Senate.

Oct 16 2008 - 9:00pm
Location Name:
Valley Democratic Campaign HQ
Address:
14529 Archwood
Van Nuys, California 91405

Join us for a very short VGFD meeting followed by phone banking where we will be working to get the vote out for the entire Democratic ticket!

It's time to get to work!

The speeches are over, now it's time to get to work to elect Democrats in November and fight for the values we find important.

Here is what YOU can do to help:

• The Valley Democratic Campaign Headquarters are now open! It's located at 14529 Archwood Street, near the intersection of Van Nuys Blvd and Vanowen across from Anna's Linens. (If you remember our 2006 HQ, it's across the parking lot). We have buttons and bumper stickers and t-shirts are on their way. Call (818) 995-DEMS or go to http://www.dpsfv.com/volunteer to sign up to volunteer.

• Help us register voters by staffing tables at malls this weekend or upcoming street fairs. Email voterreg@vgfd.net to sign up.

• Make a contribution to VGFD to help us support the headquarters. The HQ gets no money from the national or state parties--all of the funds are raised locally. Contribute at https://secure.actblue.com/contribute/entity/9271 or send a check to VGFD, PO Box 573383, Tarzana, CA 91357.

• Contribute to our endorsed candidates at http://www.actblue.com/page/vgfdcandidates08

Thank you for all you can do to help take us to victory in November!

Community Service Opportunities

AIDS Project Los Angeles' Necessities of Life Food Bank
Founded in 1986, APLA’s Necessities of Life Program is the nation’s largest food pantry for people with HIV/AIDS. Groceries and other items are bagged at the main distribution center in North Hollywood for distribution to clients throughout Los Angeles County.

VGFD has committed volunteers for the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm to help bag groceries in North Hollywood. Our next scheduled date is January 17. We need 10 people per month on an ongoing basis. More information about the food bank is at http://apla.org/programs/nolp.html

Blood Drive
We are gauging the interest of a blood drive in conjunction with Providence Health System.

If you are interested in helping with the food bank or blood drive, please contact Tauby at rosstauby@yahoo.com
